We have been going to Dr. Setzen since before my wife and I had children (our children are now done with college and working). Dr. Setzen performed surgery to correct a deviated septum for my wife and both of our sons. He has treated all of us through the years whenever we had sinus infections and other ear / nose / throat medical issues. He has always been the most professional, pleasant person imaginable. Whenever we go to him, he accurately diagnoses the root cause of our issues and the treatment he subsequently prescribes for us cures us rapidly. He is very patient, he listens carefully, he is compassionate, and he has an outstanding bedside manner with his patients. Not only is he an outstanding specialist that we would recommend to anyone, but his staff is also compassionate and is very efficient as well. I had major sinus issues three years ago which caused me to feel fatigue, have headaches, nasal congestion with infections.. Dr Setzen performed surgery on my sinus and I have been using budesonide daily. I feel fine, no sinus issues. Dr Setzen is a Miracle Worker!!!

Last Monday, Dr. Setzen performed the Entellus Balloon Sinuplasty procedure on my nose. I was a bit nervous as I heard that there could be a slow recovery and quite a bit of pain. Dr. Setzen assured me that the anesthesia was better now and the recovery would be much quicker. He was exactly right. There was almost no pain during the procedure and everything went smoothly. I was quite tired that evening and was able to resume all normal activities the next day. My breathing has become less labored and I highly recommend this procedure to anyone who needs it. Dr. Setzen repaired a terrible nasal fracture that I suffered many years ago. He was able to piece my nose back together. I healed quickly and I am doing very well since he completed my surgery.

My parents started taking me to Dr. Setzen when I was toddler. I used to have constant ear infections when I was baby so he performed a surgery with ear tubes to cure that. I haven't had an issue since. I have been seeing him my entire life after that. Throughout my teens and early twenties I would get sinus infections 4-5 times a year. Dr. Setzen was rather careful with the diagnoses of a sinus infection every time, waiting for the infection to fully develop before putting me on antibiotics. At 22, I just finished college and was about to start my first job in the airlines. He explained how I was a candidate for septoplasty surgery. He explained how I would noticed significant changes in my breathing and stop the frequent sinus infections I was having. I agreed to have the surgery. He scheduled the surgery only a week and half after the day I made the appointment. After the surgery, the recovery was quite painful for the first two days. I questioned myself if I was right in agreeing to the surgery. After 3 days, the pain was not that bad so I was able to switch to Advil. A week after the surgery the splints were removed to keep my septum in place and I noticed a difference instantly with how easy it was to breathe. So far it has been one year after the surgery and I've only had two colds and no sinus infections. I'm an athlete, working out has been a joy. My endurance has increased tremendously (kinda comes with airways that are no longer obstructed). To conclude, Dr. Setzen has done my family and I wonders for our health. I highly recommend him for any individual and families with all kinds of history with ear, nose and throat issues. He can change your life for the far better with his care. I leave his office with a smile on my face every time, knowing that I'm in less pain than I was when I first walked in.

After suffering for over 20 years without being able to breath through my nose, sinus infections, headaches, lost sense of smell , visiting numerous other ENT doctors who just gave me sprays and pills Dr Setzen quickly identified the problem to a badly deviated septum. He scheduled surgery and six weeks later I can breath through my nose and haven't had a headache. Dr Setzen has hands of gold and is a truly gifted doctor. I would highly recommend him

I recently had a septoplasty, turbinectomy, and removal of a bone spur from my nasal passage. After suffering from chronic sinusitis and sinus pain/pressure I decided to get a second opinion and went to see Dr. Setzen. From the moment I met Dr. Setzen I felt at ease and he explained all of my options and that my issues would require surgery as I was not finding relief from nasal sprays and medications. I had surgery three weeks ago and feel great- my sinus issues are gone. I recovered very quickly from the surgery and would highly recommend Dr. Setzen. He is phenomenal and his staff is so helpful!

The staff and Dr Setzen were extremely patient and kind to my son. Dr Setzen explained all findings thoroughly and explained necessary procedures that would be needed to address my son's condition. He also suggested to have second opinion if we felt it was warranted which made me feel he was very trustworthy. He performed an Adenoidectomy, Frenectomy and resection of Turbinate's at the Ambulatory Surgical Center at Northwwell Manhasset. Dr Setzen explained everything in detail to my son, me and my husband before the surgery. He made sure he was comfortable and answered all of his questions. The OR staff were also very kind and efficient. I was able to walk him into the OR and stay with him until the anesthesia was administered. This alleviated all of his and my pre-op fears. The surgery was done in less than an hour. He had a mild sore throat that day in which Tylenol worked. Minimal nasal drainage. He was able to go to his friends pool party two days later with no problems. We had follow up one week later at Dr Setzens office with no complications. Our speech therapist said "The Doctor did a great job" Overall great experience. As a Mom and a registered nurse for 27 years, I would have to say that Dr Setzen has to be one of the Best ENT surgeons that I have ever known. I was told I had really bad snoring. Had surgery 5 weeks ago, have not snored since then. I highly recommend this office. Dr. Setzen as well as the office staff extremely helpful and accommodating from the first time I stepped into the office.
